Code Boost is my freelance practice. I love designing and building software, I love solving complex puzzles, and I love a good challenge. I think programming is an art, and less is more. My goal is to provide you with solutions and improve your business while doing what I do best.

About
I'm a freelance software developer based in Enschede, the Netherlands, and happy to travel, work on location, or go hybrid. I work on the whole lifecycle, from system architecture and design patterns to refactoring and coaching teams to write better code.
On the backend I work with primarily work with Python, but recently started using the excellent Elixir and Phoenix Framework combination. On the front end I use React with Tailwind and really enjoy Svelte with SvelteKit. In recent years I've been utilizing HTMX to do server-side rendering with Django. In between I handle the CI/CD and DevOps that keep things shipping. Whatever the stack, I want code that is simple and easy to maintain.
- Programming is an art, and readable code matters.
- Less is more. I'd rather cut complexity than add it.
- I like a challenge, and the harder the puzzle the better.

Multi-level reseller platform
A major-version upgrade of the application, from Python 2 and Django 1 up to Python 3 and Django 2, delivered with zero downtime and no regressions, plus new platform features and a move to the cloud.
- Upgraded every part of the application from Python 2 / Django 1 to Python 3 / Django 2
- Wrote and ran the database migrations the upgrade required
- Updated and fixed test coverage across the suite
- Extensive manual testing to ship the upgrade safely
- Rolled out with zero downtime for users
- Finished and implemented a pricing service for the platform
- Supported migrating the self-hosted application to Kubernetes on GCP
- Designed and built a serverless app to send and receive SMS messages
- Refactored multiple parts of the codebase to fit current needs
